I know I made already a few videos for the PX4 Custom Tokyo Marui, but considering it has probably been my main gun for last year, I tought I would make a long video with the new camera.

Note that "PX4 Custom" is the name of the gun. It's a replica of the Beretta PX4 Storm, but it has not real trademarks.

That's really a cool GBB. The finition is good (if you're not allergic to good quality plastic slides), the kick is awesome (for a gun this light), the performances are very nice. And it's an original gun, something you don't see in the hands of all the other airsoft players (unlike Glocks, 1911 or M9).

I also like the ergonomy a lot. It works very well with my small hands. The slide stop is just big enough, same thing for the mag release button.

So far I never had any problem with the gun, and it still works really great.

Sorry for the redundancy, I'm just trying a few new things. I'm trying the trial version of Magix Video and I wonder what kind of videos I'll make in the future. I hope you'll like them.

You can see it in the hands of Dicaprio in the movie Inception (I believe it's the .45 ACP though), or also in Die Hard 4.

Another great piece made by Tokyo Marui. Good accuracy, great kick (more than the Glock 17 or the Glock 18, it's about the same kick than the 5.7), reliable, and good finition.

The safety works as a decocker too.

Yes, the slide is plastic. But what is so wrong about plastic ? The finition of this ABS slide is great, not like the very cheap metal slide made by KWA or WE with those ugly white trademarks. And it uses less gas.

Game of the 12/02/12 at "The Hangar" in Les Yvelines (France). First games of the day was "Gbb only" deatmatches. Then, capture the flag type of games for the rest of the morning, then "Attack/defense" type of game in the after noon.

It was a cold day, between 3 and 5 °C, but yet I played with only gas guns. My G39C Gbbr WE Ra-Tech custom and my Tokyo Marui PX4. They both resisted pretty well to the cold, even if they did had a little lack of punch. Still skirmishable though.

Partie du 2 décembre 2012 à "The Hangar" dans Les Yvelines. Les premières parties de la journée étaient des deathmatch en "Gbb only". Ensuite, une partie de type "capture the flag" pour le reste de la matinée, puis des parties "attaque/défense" dans l'après midi.

C'était un jour plutôt froid, entre 3 et 5 °C, mais j'ai quand même voulu joué avec des répliques à gaz. Mon G39C WE Ra-Tech custom et mon PX4 Tokyo Marui. Ils ont tous les deux bien résisté au froid, malgré un petit manque de punch. Mais c'était jouable !

The Tokyo Marui Px4 Custom is a good replica of the Beretta Px4 Storm DA pistol.
Its ergonomic, well built, punchy in use and has good accuracy and range.

Potted history:
The 500 year old family owned company have recently produced the Beretta Px4 Storm, though based on the older Cougar 8000 DA pistol its setting new standards in technological supperiority. It has aesthetic features built around a modular platform that can be easily adapted to suit an individuals needs and fit his or her grip.
Internally the Px4 uses a locked breech with a rotating barrel thats Beretta's own design. The frame is made from lightweight thermopolymer-reinforced fibreglass, so as to be corrosive resisitant and have a longer service life.
The ergonomics are truly astounding with small, medium and large backstraps that can be changed without the need for tools. This dramatically changes the 'feel' and the grip orientation to satisfy most users. An inbuilt Picatinny rail permits the fitting of lights and lasers for every situation. A combined 'de-cocking' safety lever allows safe handling of an otherwise loaded pistol for re-holstering after an incident. Tests done have proved the robust build of this little pistol by firing 10.000 rounds through three pistols with each having no malfunctions.

The airsoft pistol:
Tokyo Marui have again done a fine job, just like they did with their FN 5-7, this little pistol is built tough and has the now legendary TM hop up system to give good accuracy and range. Markings are cleverly made to look like the RS weapon but on closer inspection (as per the FN 5-7) are not what they appear. As this pistol is marked 'Custom' not 'Storm' as per the RS one. Still they fool the eye at distance and are placed as they are on the RS version so only the 'Gear-do's' will worry at this.
The pistol uses a rotating barrel set up as per the RS type but I have to admit this seems a problem area maybe in the future with longevity, jams and such could happen i feel so watch this space as i will do follow up videos on this gun in time. Gas use is negligable and meagre in warm weather so mags empty of BBs with little effort. It has a good crisp 'punchy' kick to its blowback and is stable when held right.
The controls are all easily to hand and operate with a solid feel. The slide lock lever has its own ingenious metal lock bar (so no more wear to the plastic slide notch like on previous guns) within the slide. The magazine catch is flush to the grip so no accidental mag dumps can occur when under stress but operates well when pressed with mags cleanly falling from the well of the frame. The trigger though stiff when pulled using the DA feature is crisp and solid. It becomes lighter to use when the hammer has already been cocked after its initial cycle.
Sights are excellent though not glow in the dark. With good, quick, target acquisition.
The grip can always be a problem, if like me you have small hands, as most pistols are large in the frame to cope with the number of rounds carried. Beretta though not the first company to do this (S&W were the pioniers) have interchangable backstraps and TM have faithfully reproduced this feature allowing for small, medium and large hand sizes to be accomodated and all are included with the gun.
The most novel feature I found is the combined 'safety, de-cocking lever. Exactly like the RS weapon this feature allows you to fire the pistol and then press the lever down freeing not only the trigger but the hammer, allowing it to fall but without the gun going off, for safe re-holstering. No danger of thumb safety's here being accidentally released or gas mags pulled out to release the hammer, just a simple ambi-dextrous lever that allows you hand cocking of the hammer to bring it back into battery when required.

Conclusion:
A fine replica with a good 'feel' in the hand, whatever your size, plus accuracy, range and build quality that's second to none. Well recommended but watch this space for long term use on reliability.

Pistola Blow Back de la casa Tokyo Marui

Can also be used with WE or HK3P Px4 Storms.

My Slide is HK3P, the safeties are TM, the inner barrel assemble is TM, the outer barrel is HK3P, and the block with slide spring are TM. I painted the engravings and sights with nail polish.

Also I know that its not a "complete" take down of the pistol, but its close enough to where people can explore the rest of the things I didnt touch in the video.

Please note that this was my first type of video like this and I have little experience in video editing.

Hello there my fellow airsoft pistolsmiths and fans ;-)

In this video I revisit the TM Px4 GBB pistol I did a review on a while back now, to see how its faired over the intervening time. Well not to bad on the whole with little wear or damage apart from a problem when a new Nineball hop was installed.

The take down:
The problem was every other fired BB went off to the right or dropped to the floor or so I was told by its owner. After several checks and another new hop installment, it was still causing trouble. I eventually tracked the cause to a badly moulded nozzle by TM. The end had 'flash' from the injection mould process still attached at it. This was cutting into the new tighter sealing Nineball hop rubber's collar and damaging it enough to allow air around the seal to escape, thus influencing the odd BB to occasionally fly off at weird angles.
I tried to reuse the old Nineball hop but its to far gone and since this video was made its been scraped, the original TM hop rubber being reinstalled which gives no trouble.

Conclusion:
So lesson learned and therefore always check the blow back nozzle end for 'flash' and or damage before installing a costly upgraded hop rubber or you will pay the price :-(
The pistol itself is in fine fettle and works just aswell as it did when bought. The rotating barrel is still ok but for slight wear at its base at its union with the guide rod block. The loose fitting slide bar problem can be solved by just supergluing it into position and keeping an eye on it everytime you clean the weapon. Trigger spring problems have been seen to happen on other forums ive read but they are few and far between so not something to be concerned with much, plus replacement springs, im told, can be obtained.
Overall the TM Px4 gets a hearty thumbs up from the LaZouche Custom test bench ;-)

As I described in the previous video, the SD slides for the marui PX4 are not their best, and this particular one has some problems with the decocker.

For the decocker to engage and drop the hammer, the slide must be pressed down, from there, it works normally.

If the slide is not pressed down, the hammer does not drop. When you press the trigger the hammer WILL drop but the gun won't fire.
After that, it works normally.

Quick demo of the TM PX4. This was a first-take video just to give you an idea of how it shoots. Not too bad for a short barreled gbb.
