The Parabellum-Pistole, otherwise known as the Luger pistol, is a self-loading pistol introduced by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) starting in the 1890s. In the first half of the 20th Century it proved to be a popular service pistol, being used by the Germany during both World War I and World War II.

This P08 released by WE from Taiwan, is made full metal, which feels realistic to hold because of the weight and cool touch. The only exterior plastic parts are the grip plates! It operates just like the real gun, with the toggle action function that jumps back and upwards for each shot, and locks open on an empty magazine. It provides 290fps with using Top Gas and 0.20g BBs, which is a good result from a 4" barrel with a single stack magazine.

Yay! My first review! Hello fellow WWII buffs and airsofters alike, here is my review of the WE Luger P08. I go over the external/internal features of the gun so if I left anything out please let me know! Also, if anyone would like a detailed list of instructions please let me know and I'll be happy to post one!

NOTE: THERE IS NO FIRING TEST! :(

        I have to have my gun replaced before I can do a firing test. As I mentioned in the review, it is firing uncontrollably in full auto. Until I get a replacement, I'm not going to do a firing test. When I get my replacement however, I will post a firing test ASAP! Sorry!

Just a quick vid messing around with the WE P08 Luger 6 inch barrel version. The gun is 110 dollars off of airsoftgi.com and is extremely high quality with an all metal build and gas blowback system, it is fast and accurate, but it eats alot of gas though. And BTW it's not for sale haha, all mine!

A problem with this gun is that it is not very efficient on gas consumption. Other than that, it's really great!

reviewing my chrome luger i got from CIA airsoft

This another of my 'break away' reviews this time on Tanaka's sadly underrated P-08 Luger.

Potted history:
The Parabellum P-08 was designed by Georg Luger a few years before WW1. Chambered for 7.65 and 9mm, the P-08 was a very accurate and ergonomic pistol to shoot, hence it was liked by the German military of the time. It could be fitted with either a standard 8 round magazine or a special 32 round drum magazine. The artillery version, fitted with a longer barrel (7.9"), was issued to Army support troops and the German Navy. Though the pistol was of good design and comfortable to shoot, it was prone to malfunctions in dirty conditions.
When the US were looking for a new automatic pistol just before WW1, two were made in .45 caliber and sent as participants in the selection process. One unfortunately blew up and the other mysteriously was withdrawn before the trials were completed.
Over 2.5 million P-08's were produced between 1908 to 1945. It was also used after 1945 by the Vietcong and was a sort after trophy by US vets. Its still produced today in small numbers by other manufactures, though always known as the Luger. Originals in good condition demand high prices of $9000-$10,000 at auction.

The airsoft pistol:
Though WE now make a fine example of the Luger, Tanaka were the first manufacturers to produce gas blow back pistols and they wasted no time in producing unique types from history, the Luger being one of their best.
The pistol itself is accurate in size, markings and function. It incorporates all the design features, the long range sights, toggle bolt action, thumb safety, all located exactly where they should be. There is a hop up on the underside of the barrel and the pistol comes with an adjustment key.
The Luger's magazines are thin with the gas resevoir easily filled using the inlet valve at its base. BBs are fed through the top of the feed tube using the odd shaped loader supplied. The pistol can also use a gas filled 50 round drum magazine, which Tanaka produce.
Accuracy was not bad but it wasn't good either, at ranges over 30 meters only scoring 65% hits to a man sized target. All BBs were fired from the magazine, so gas consumption was evidently good.

Conclusion:
The Luger is a totally different animal to say a 1911, its like comparing a sexy stilletto to a size nine boot! With its smooth function and well designed ergonomics I have to say I like this pistol. If you get the chance give the Tanaka a try, you maybe pleasently surprized.

Really not one of my better videos but in my defense, it was done pretty impromptu and in a hurry. I wouldn't even consider this a review of the Luger either since the gun came out of the box and went to my indoor firing range for a few quick clips. (The thoughts of free "stuff" had me dazed.) I may do another one on the WE P08 in a couple of weeks after I spend a little more time with it.
Edit 1/21/13: I don't think I'll be doing an extended review on this pistol after all. I brought it out again yesterday to get better acquainted with it and iit started malfunctioning. I was planning to live with the slow gas leak in magazine (enough that you could hear it if placed to the ear) but it stated failing to cock itself as well. (Not a low gas situation as that's the 1st place I went). It would fire a round, (the toggle action would cycle) then the next trigger pull would get nothing (not even a hammer fall) as it did not cock. By manually cocking the action it would fire another round then it was repeat the above to get it to fire again. Not something I'd consider worthy of the airsplat gun arsenal.
I've already emailed [email protected] to request an RGA.
